A general pest treatment is the bread and butter of looking after a home. Rather than waiting for one pest to become a problem, a single thorough visit knocks back the common household pests all at once and leaves a protective treatment working for months. It is the simplest way to keep a home comfortable and pest-free through the year.

Bob Pest Control provides residential pest control across Bankstown, Liverpool, Fairfield and the wider South West. Every treatment is carried out by a licensed local technician, using products applied to label, with real care taken around children and pets.

All in One Visit

What's Covered in a Standard Home Treatment

A standard general treatment targets the everyday pests that turn up in Sydney homes, in a single visit.

Cockroaches

Gel bait and treatment for the species that invade kitchens. More

Ants

Trails and entry points treated so they stop marching in. More

Spiders

De-webbing plus residual treatment to cut the numbers. More

Silverfish

Treatment of the damp, dark spots where they shelter. More

Other pests like rodents, termites, fleas and bed bugs are handled as their own specialised services. If you are seeing one of those, just let us know and we will treat it the right way.

Top to Bottom

Treatment Areas

We treat the whole property, not just the room where you spotted the problem, because pests travel.

Kitchen

Cracks, cupboards and behind appliances where pests feed and hide.

Bathrooms & Laundry

The damp areas that draw cockroaches and silverfish.

Roof Void

Dusting of the ceiling space where spiders and insects shelter.

Internal Perimeter

Skirting, door frames and the edges pests travel along.

External Perimeter

Around the base of the home, eaves, weep holes and entry points.

Garden & Yard

Fence lines and garden edges where outdoor pests gather.

On the Day

How Long the Treatment Takes

A standard residential treatment for an average home takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the property and the level of activity. There is very little disruption to your day, and the treated areas are safe for the family once they have dried, usually within 30 to 60 minutes.

It is normal to notice a bit more pest activity for the first few days as the treatment flushes them out of hiding. After that, numbers drop away and stay down. A general treatment typically keeps protecting your home for several months.

  • Set and Forget

    Annual Treatment Plans

The easiest way to stay on top of pests is to never let them build up in the first place. An annual plan schedules your treatment for you each year, so your home stays protected without you having to think about it, often at a better rate than one-off visits. See our annual pest plans for the details.

    Common Questions

    Residential Pest Control FAQs

What homeowners most often ask about a general home treatment.

What pests does a standard treatment cover?
A general residential treatment covers the common household pests, mainly cockroaches, ants, spiders and silverfish, in one visit. Rodents, termites, fleas and bed bugs are treated as their own specialised services, which we are happy to add on if you need them.
Is the treatment safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We use APVMA-registered products applied to label, and treated areas are safe for the family once dry, usually within 30 to 60 minutes. Just keep pets away during the treatment and we will let you know when everything is right to use again.
How long does a treatment last?
A general treatment usually keeps working for several months, and many homes do well with a treatment once a year. Properties near bushland or water, or those that have had heavy activity, sometimes benefit from more frequent visits.
Do I need to leave the house?
In most cases, no. You simply need to stay off the treated surfaces until they dry and keep pets away during the visit. We will give you any specific advice for your home before we begin.
Why do I see more bugs straight after?
That is a good sign. The treatment flushes pests out of their hiding spots, so you may see more of them for a few days as they come into contact with it. Activity then drops away quickly.
How much does residential pest control cost?
It depends on the size of your home and what is being treated, but we always give an upfront quote first. You can see indicative figures on our pricing page.
