Spider Control Sydney

Sydney is home to some of the most venomous spiders in the world, along with plenty of harmless ones that still give everyone a fright. We treat the dangerous and the nuisance alike, so your home and yard feel safe again.

Most spiders in a Sydney home are harmless and even useful, quietly eating other insects. The problem is the few that are not, and the simple fact that nobody wants webs across the eaves or a redback under the kids' trampoline. A professional spider treatment cuts the numbers right down and keeps the dangerous species in check.

Bob Pest Control treats spiders across Bankstown, Liverpool, Fairfield and the wider South West. We target the spots spiders shelter and hunt, remove the webbing, and leave a residual treatment that keeps working for months. If you are worried about funnel-webs or redbacks around children or pets, this is one job worth getting done properly.

The Ones That Matter

Dangerous Sydney Spiders

These are the species worth taking seriously. If anyone is bitten and becomes unwell, call 000 immediately. For funnel-web and redback bites, apply first aid and seek medical help straight away.

Funnel-Web

High Risk

One of the most venomous spiders in the world. Males roam in the warmer, humid months and shelter in moist, sheltered spots, including around pools and garages. Treat any funnel-web as a serious risk.

Redback

High Risk

Easy to spot by the red stripe on its back. It hides in dry, sheltered places like under outdoor furniture, in sheds and in letterboxes. Bites are very painful and need medical attention.

White-Tail

Moderate

A roaming hunter that comes indoors and hides in clothing and bedding. Bites can be painful and itchy. The flesh-eating reputation is largely a myth, but they are still an unwelcome house guest.

More of a Nuisance

Common House Spiders

These ones look alarming but are not considered dangerous. Treatment keeps their numbers down so your home stays web-free and comfortable.

Huntsman

Large, fast and a fright to find on the wall, but harmless and actually helpful, eating other bugs.

Daddy Long-Legs

Thin-legged and very common in corners and ceilings. Harmless, though their webs build up quickly.

Black House Spider

Builds messy webs around window frames, eaves and brickwork. A nuisance rather than a danger.

How We Treat

Our Spider Treatment Process

A thorough treatment that targets where spiders shelter, hunt and breed, inside and out.

1

Inspect the Property

We check eaves, fences, gardens, subfloor and inside to see which spiders you have and where.

2

Remove Webs

We de-web eaves, corners and external surfaces, which also strips away egg sacs.

3

Apply Treatment

A residual treatment goes onto the surfaces spiders travel, plus dusting into voids and cracks.

4

Ongoing Protection

The treatment keeps working for months, knocking down spiders as they move across it.

A Cleaner Result

Web Removal and Exterior Dusting

Spraying alone leaves old webs and egg sacs in place, which is why we always de-web as part of the job. Clearing the eaves, window frames and external corners removes the existing spiders, takes away their egg sacs, and lets the residual treatment bond directly to clean surfaces.

For the spiders that shelter out of sight, we dust into roof voids, wall cavities and cracks. The fine dust settles where they hide and clings to them as they move, reaching the spots a surface spray never could.

What the Treatment Covers

  • Eaves, gutleads and external window frames
  • Fences, retaining walls and garden structures
  • Subfloor and around the perimeter of the home
  • Roof void and cracks where spiders shelter
  • Web and egg sac removal where accessible

When to Call Urgently

Funnel-web season runs from around November to April. Through the warm, humid months the males leave their burrows and wander, especially after rain, which is when they turn up in garages, gardens, laundries and even pool skimmer boxes.

If you are seeing funnel-webs around a home with young children or pets, do not wait. Keep clear of the spider, do not try to handle it, and call us to book a priority treatment. If anyone is bitten, apply first aid and call 000 without delay.

Common Questions

Spider Control FAQs

What customers most often ask us about spider treatment.

Are spider treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We use APVMA-registered products applied to label. Treated areas are safe for the family once dry, usually within 30 to 60 minutes, and we will give you any specific advice before we begin.
How long does a spider treatment last?
A professional residual treatment generally keeps working for up to six months, knocking down spiders as they cross the treated surfaces. Many customers book a treatment once a year, often heading into the warmer months.
Will it deal with funnel-webs and redbacks?
Our treatment targets the areas these spiders shelter and travel, which reduces the risk around your home considerably. For specific advice, see our funnel-web and redback pages.
Do I need to remove the webs myself first?
No, web removal is part of the job. We de-web the eaves, corners and external surfaces as we go, which also clears away egg sacs and helps the treatment work better.
When is funnel-web season in Sydney?
Roughly November to April. The males wander most during warm, humid weather and after rain, which is when they are most likely to turn up around the home. A treatment before or during this period is good timing.
