Pest Control FAQs

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often from homes and businesses around Sydney's South West. Cannot find what you are after? Just give Bob a call on 0435 789 599.

About Our Service

What suburbs do you cover?
We work right across Sydney's South West, covering 21 suburbs including Bankstown, Liverpool, Fairfield, Auburn, Campsie, Revesby and Canterbury. If you live nearby and are not sure whether you fall inside our area, give us a call and we will let you know. You can also see the full list on our service areas page.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Bob holds a current NSW pesticide applicator licence and carries full public liability insurance on every job. Using a licensed technician protects you legally and means the work is carried out to the standards set under the Pesticides Act 1999.
Do you treat both homes and businesses?
We do. Most of our work is residential, but we also look after restaurants, cafes, offices, warehouses and strata buildings across the South West. Commercial jobs are quoted to suit the site and can be scheduled outside trading hours. There is more on our commercial pest control page.
How soon can you come out?
In most cases we offer same day service if you call before midday. For urgent problems like a wasp nest or a heavy cockroach outbreak, we will do our best to get to you within a few hours.

Safety

Are your treatments safe for children and pets?
Yes, when they are applied correctly. We use products registered by the APVMA and apply them strictly to label. Most treatments are safe for the family once they have dried, which usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. We will talk you through what to do before we start.
How long do we need to stay out of the house?
For a standard internal treatment you generally only need to keep everyone out until the product dries, which is around 30 to 60 minutes. Some treatments take longer, and Bob will tell you exactly how long on the day so you can plan around it.
Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?
A little prep helps. For a kitchen cockroach job, clear the benches and empty the cupboard under the sink. For a general treatment, move pet bowls and cover any fish tanks. Bob will give you a short checklist when you book so nothing slows the job down.
Are the products safe around pregnant women and asthma sufferers?
We can use lower toxicity options for sensitive households, including homes with a pregnant woman, a young baby or someone with asthma. Let us know when you book and we will pick the gentlest treatment that still does the job, then advise on airing the rooms afterwards.

Pricing and Quotes

How much does pest control cost?
It depends on the pest, the size of your property and how established the problem is. A general treatment for a standard home starts in the low hundreds, while specialist work such as termites is priced after an inspection. Our pricing page has a full guide.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Every quote is free and there is no obligation to go ahead. You can request one over the phone or through our quote form, and we will give you a clear price before any work begins.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. We do not add call-out surcharges anywhere across our 21 suburbs. The price we quote is the price you pay, with nothing tacked on at the end.
How can I pay?
We accept the usual options, including card and bank transfer. Payment is taken once the job is finished and you are happy with it. For commercial accounts we can arrange invoicing to suit your terms.

Booking and Treatments

How long does a treatment take?
A general pest treatment for an average home takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Larger homes, heavy infestations or termite work take longer. Bob will give you a realistic time when he quotes the job so you know what to expect.
Do I need to be home?
For internal work, someone needs to let us in and lock up afterwards, but you do not have to stay for the whole visit. For external only treatments we can often work without anyone home, as long as we have access to the yard.
Will one treatment fix the problem?
For most general pests, one thorough treatment does the job. German cockroaches and bed bugs can need a follow up visit to break the breeding cycle. If that applies to your situation, Bob will tell you upfront so there are no surprises later.
Do you offer ongoing or annual plans?
Yes. Plenty of families and businesses prefer a scheduled plan that keeps pests away all year. It usually works out cheaper per visit than booking one off jobs, and it means any new activity gets caught early before it becomes a real problem.

Specific Pests

Why do cockroaches keep coming back after I spray them?
Supermarket sprays are repellents. They kill the roaches you can see but scatter the rest deeper into wall cavities, where they keep breeding out of sight. Professional gel bait works the other way around. The roaches carry it back to where they hide and it clears out the whole colony, queen included. There is more on our cockroach control page.
How do I know if I have termites?
Common signs include mud tubes on walls or piers, timber that sounds hollow when you tap it, paint that looks blistered, doors that suddenly stick, and small piles of discarded wings near windows. The only reliable way to be sure is a professional inspection, since most activity stays hidden inside the timber. Our termite control page explains what is involved.
Can you remove a wasp nest the same day?
In most cases, yes. A wasp nest near the house is a real safety risk, so we treat it as a priority and can often get to you the same day. Please do not try to knock a nest down yourself, because that is when most stings happen. See our wasp and bee removal page.
Do you treat bed bugs?
Yes. Bed bugs are stubborn and need a proper plan rather than a quick spray. We treat the room, the bed and all the spots they hide in, give you a prep checklist beforehand, and usually return for a follow up to catch any bugs that hatch after the first visit. Our bed bug treatment page has the details.

Our Guarantee

What does your guarantee cover?
Every treatment comes with a satisfaction guarantee. If the pest we treated comes back within the warranty period for that job, we return and treat it again at no extra cost. The warranty length depends on the pest, and we will tell you exactly what it is when you book.
What happens if the pests come back?
Give us a call. If it is within your warranty period, we come back and re-treat for free. If it turns out to be a different pest or it falls outside the period, we will give you an honest quote rather than charge you for something that should have been covered.
Do you provide a certificate for end of lease?
Yes. We issue a formal pest control certificate the same day, and it is accepted by real estate agents and property managers across the South West. It lists Bob's licence details, the treatment carried out and the property address. See our end of lease pest control page.
